Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription injectable that temporarily softens moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults under 65. In clinical studies, the median onset was 2–3 days, based on patient assessments. Improvement may last up to 5 months, based on a post-hoc analysis of two pivotal studies. Individual results vary. Your provider will review your health history and goals to help determine whether Dysport is right for you.

Dysport® temporarily relaxes targeted muscles to soften moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows in adults under 65. It is a wrinkle relaxer, not a dermal filler. Your treatment plan is tailored to your facial anatomy and goals.
Treatment aims to soften frown lines while preserving a natural appearance. Improvement often begins within two to three days, and some patients notice changes earlier. Timing and the degree of improvement vary; a specific result or a “best result” by day ten cannot be guaranteed.
Results may last up to five months. The manufacturer bases this duration on a post-hoc analysis of two pivotal studies measuring improvement from baseline. Your response may be shorter. Discuss repeat treatment with your provider rather than assuming a fixed schedule or routine touch-ups.
The approved cosmetic indication is for adults under 65 with moderate to severe frown lines. Your provider reviews your health and expectations. Do not receive Dysport if you have a cow’s milk protein allergy, an allergy to its ingredients or another botulinum toxin product, or an infection at the injection site. Discuss pregnancy, breastfeeding, muscle or nerve conditions, and swallowing or breathing problems before treatment.
Bring a list of medicines and supplements, details of previous injections and any recent facial procedures. Your consultation is a chance to discuss your goals and ask questions. Ask your prescribing clinician before changing or stopping any medication.
After assessing your facial movement and cleaning the skin, your provider uses a fine needle to place injections in the selected muscles. The procedure generally takes 10–20 minutes; consultation may make the visit longer. Brief discomfort can occur, so discuss comfort options beforehand.
Follow the clinic’s instructions about touching treated areas, exercise, makeup and other facial treatments. Recovery varies, and bruising or swelling may affect your plans. Ask when to check in about your results and contact the clinic if you have concerns.
Both use botulinum toxin type A, but their formulations and doses differ. Their units are not interchangeable. If a previous treatment has not met your expectations, discuss it with your provider; switching products does not guarantee a better response.
Possible side effects include headache, injection-site reactions, eyelid swelling or drooping, and nausea. Rare spread of toxin effects can cause serious swallowing, speaking or breathing difficulties; seek medical help immediately if these occur. Review the full safety information below before treatment. Skincare, sun protection and follow-up can be discussed as part of your overall care, without promising they will extend Dysport’s effects or prevent new wrinkles.
